What we learn about Lia could have been told in one chapter easily. All of which we learned about in the first book. The continuing fight between Adrian and the Russians. The story leading up to chapter 20 was nothing but repetition. At that point the story began where I was hoping it would have started in the first chapter, picking up where the story left off in VOD. I didn't find myself invested until I hit chapter 20. With the exception of a couple of chapters on the back story of Lia, I had absolutely no interest whatsoever and kept waiting for something to happen. I so LOVED the first book, Vow of Deception, and couldn't fathom the follow-up being anything less than stellar.īut.I'm sitting here writing my review and I feel pretty crappy about the book as a whole. I was so excited to get into this book this morning, I sat down and powered through in one sitting. My husband will either destroy me or I’ll destroy him. We started with games and carnal pleasure.Īdrian and I shouldn’t have been together. Rina has truly done her best work and I’m excited to see how the story ends. Each character has his or her purpose and I love how the picture unfolds as the story progresses. This story is intricate and mind blowing and It’s fantastic to see how the pieces all fit together as the story plays out. On top of all the carnal hotness, I’m also in awe of how Rina’s mind works and fits the overall plot puzzle together.
We finally get a closer look at their relationship from the very beginning and the web of deception that begins to weave.
I don’t know how Rina continually ups the hotness factor in her writing, but kudos to her keyboard never starting on fire or perhaps having several on hand as they ignite while writing cause Adrian and Lia set the pages on fire in this second part of the trilogy.
